drypoint with aluminium

i absolutely love everything about this print process. its great wen you roll it out if the printing process and peal back the paper to reveal a beautiful print.
the first two of the little mouse portrait are my favourite ones.

objectives
  • i have a large sheet of aluminium. i would like to do a large drypoint of a pest portrait. i could maybe do a raccoon or a fox, badger, possum or rabbit. either way something that is on a more life-size scale.
  • i also have some little scraps of aluminium left. these would be great to do little portraits of the littler pests; rats, moles, squirrels.
  • i would like to do some more lino prints as-well so i need to prepare some more lino. two of my favourite methods of print are lino and drypoit so i would like to do lots more of these.

all i want to do is more.....

PRINTMAKING!

monomonomono prints

My beautiful mono-prints of a bunny, rat, mouse and a raccoon. i love how what you get with a mono print is unexpected and you never really know what marks you're going to get. You never really have full control over it, that's the fun of it.

busy bunny

Here are some prints of my rabbit lino. i really like how it has turned out. i always like how lino turn out with the unexpected marks it gives. they're just beautiful.

finally we START!

OK! so here come the first of my chinese chop! this one is of a little raccoon. this little critter stamp took me about two hours and a really sore hand to carve and almost didn't seem worth it, but once i did my first print, i knew it was totally worth it! i plan on doing LOTS more of these with different animals, i also need to see what different kind of ink will work with the chop too.

To start my creative flow i also did my routine sketches to get my arty-juices flowing. here we have a raccoon, a tiger and a moose wearing a lumberjack shirt....not too sure why...
